Youth Christian Education FOCUS
God’s Great Commission to all Believers:
1. Jesus gave all Christians a big command and it is called the Great Commission.
2. Great Commission says that the Holy Spirit will help us.
3. The Great Commission says that we are to continue sharing the good news until everyone hears it.
This work is still not complete and so we must carry on with the Great Commission and continue to share the good news of the salvation that Jesus gives us to everyone who will listen.
LaShell DuBose
Student Ministries Director
The Student and Children Ministries is organized to offer both bible instruction and Christian fellowship for the young people who attend Greater Mount Olive. Our Student Ministries participate in Denominational Christian Education events with students from other churches on a district, state, and national level.
There are opportunities to travel across the nation for cultural, historical, and educational tours as well as fun and fellowship. Recently, excursions have been made to Washington D.C., Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, and Memphis, TN.
Our youth also have organized opportunities to show the love of God to others and give back to our community through service projects such as providing personal care items to Seniors in Nursing Homes and distributing food, toiletries, and gospel tracts to those experiencing homelessness.
Our objective is to assist parents and guardians in providing opportunities for young people from Nursery age through High School graduation to learn, grow, and develop into well-rounded, well-informed responsible followers of Christ.
For more information on how to get your young person involved contact LaShell DuBose or email studentministry@gmochurch.org
Dorothy Winston
Usher President
GMO Youth Ushers
Our ministry has a proud and unique history. We recognize that ushering is a voluntary act of worship; our purpose is to learn to assist in and promote the worship of our GOD. Under the mentorship of our Adult Ushers, we prepare our sanctuary for worship, maintain order and decency during services, work as evangelist, and promote positve public relations during service as a representative of Christ and His church.
Sister Ava Hayes-Bruner
Youth Choir Director
The Music Ministry spreads the Word of God through music experiences. The purpose of the Music Ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, and encourage believers in their walk with Christ.
Sister Ava, loves teaching and feels blessed to be working with the youth of Greater Mount Olive.
Youth Praise Dance Ministry Leader
In our Ministry, we empower children to express their praise for God through dance. Children gain confidence in their creativity, teamwork, confidence, and more importantly their faith. We encourage them to build their personal relationship with the Lord while giving their testimony to others to bring them closer to him as well.
Deacon Terrance Green
WHOLE Male Mentoring Director
The WHOLE MALE is a boys-to-men male mentoring program designed to develop, reinforce, and encourage godly masculinity in our boys and young men.
This program is designed to share the principles from a biblical perspective of what it means to be a man of God from how a man worships to how a man works. The goal is to assist parents and guardians in leading and teaching as early in life as possible young men to become the man God has created them to be and have the character to excel in the various roles men are required to be responsible for, as sons and grandsons, nephews, brothers, husbands, and fathers.

Elishea Barlow
Miriam's Courage Female Mentoring Director
Miriam’s Courage was organized to assist parents and guardians in the development of girls into women of Christ who possess and practice godly femininity, resist misogynist limitations and become everything that God has for them to be.
This mentoring program reinforces the biblical principles that remind every girl that she is wonderfully and fearfully made in the image of God, and as a child of God she has a responsibility to carry herself with dignity and respect, treat others in the same manner, and not allow anyone to reduce her worth or devalue who God has created her to be.
