GraceGiving is a Thanksgiving Day outreach rooted in love, hospitality, and community care. Through the generosity of volunteers, donors, families, businesses, churches, and community organizations, Greater Mount Olive provides free, home-cooked Thanksgiving meals to members of our community.

What Is GraceGiving?

Thanksgiving is often presented as a season filled with family, celebration, and abundance. For many people, however, the holiday can also magnify food insecurity, financial hardship, grief, displacement, or isolation.

GraceGiving was created in response to those realities.

Each Thanksgiving Day, Greater Mount Olive opens its doors and joins with community partners to provide free, nourishing meals in an atmosphere shaped by dignity, warmth, and genuine hospitality.

Our purpose is not merely to distribute food. GraceGiving demonstrates what becomes possible when people choose to care for one another collectively.

We believe nobody should have to face any season alone.

Why It Matters

GraceGiving reflects a simple but necessary conviction: community care is a shared responsibility.

No single church, organization, business, or individual can meet every need. However, when people bring together their time, resources, relationships, and gifts, we can create something larger than any one of us could accomplish alone.

GraceGiving gives our community an opportunity to turn concern into action, generosity into nourishment, and faith into service.

Our 2026 Goal

This year, Greater Mount Olive and our community partners are working together to:

• Prepare and provide 350 complete Thanksgiving meals
• Mobilize at least 95 volunteers
• Raise $5,775 to support food, supplies, and operational needs
• Engage more than 15 community organizations, churches, families, and businesses
• Ensure that every person served is received with dignity, care, and hospitality

Volunteer With GraceGiving

GraceGiving depends upon people willing to serve before, during, and after Thanksgiving Day.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

• Food preparation
• Dining-area preparation
• Event setup
• Meal packaging
• Serving meals
• Greeting and hospitality
• Restocking supplies
• Volunteer check-in
• Transportation or delivery assistance, if applicable
• Photography and media
• Cleanup
• Post-event organization
• Other event-day responsibilities

Volunteers will serve during designated shifts so that each area of the outreach receives the support it needs.

Families, ministries, workplaces, alumni groups, fraternities, sororities, civic organizations, and other community groups are invited to serve together.

Because group assignments require additional coordination, groups should complete the Community Partnership Form rather than having every member register independently.

The GraceGiving team will contact your designated group representative to discuss:

• Preferred service opportunities
• Available shifts
• Age requirements
• Group responsibilities
• Arrival and check-in procedures

Yes. Every gift contributes to the work. You do not have to select a formal sponsorship level to support GraceGiving.

Can I donate food or supplies instead of money?

Can my organization sponsor meals?

Yes. Businesses, churches, ministries, civic organizations, fraternities, sororities, alumni groups, and other organizations are invited to sponsor meals or participate at an official sponsorship level.

Can my group volunteer together?

Yes. Groups should complete the Community Partnership Form so that the GraceGiving team can coordinate an appropriate assignment and shift.

Can children or teenagers volunteer?
