Pastor Douglas is a dynamic and exciting gospel preacher who brings both biblical scholarship and practical application to his preaching and teaching. He uses gifts of teaching, preaching, and leadership to advance the cause of Christ throughout the country.

He bases his ministry mandate on Colossians 1:28, where Paul says of Christ; "Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus".

Deacon Ministry 2023

A Deacon is above all a servant. That is the meaning of the word. The first deacons were chosen in Acts 6:1-6  when the apostles advised the church to look out for seven men of good report, full of the Holy Ghost, and men of practical wisdom, who should take entire charge of the daily physical matters of the church in order to free the apostles to devote themselves entirely to the spiritual functions of their office. Seven men were chosen, and although their office was at first entirely secular, it afterward also became spiritual.

In 1 Timothy 3:8-13, the qualifications of deacons are given.; " Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience.  But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

The deacon in the modern church should meet those same qualifications and should operate as a servant to the church and as a helper to the pastor.   Faithful deacons are essential to the growth and stability of the church. Deacons serve voluntarily, at the request of the pastor, and with the approval of the church.
